In 2008, he exhibited over 70 works in an exhibit sponsored by the Greater Jackson Arts Alliance.

In 2008, he completed a 40' x 60' southern landscape painting to be featured in the lobby of the new Inn At Ole Miss.

International Artist Magazine named an Alfred Nicols landscape as a finalist in their 2010 world wide landscape competition, the only artist from the southeastern United States to become a finalist this particular competition, a full page being devoted to an Alfred Nicols landscape in the Feb/Mar issue of International Artist Magazine.

Featured painting in his studio on the cover of winter 2010-2011 issue of The Mississippi Lawyer.

Featured with an article in the April 2011 issue of Mississippi Courts in conjunction with eleven additional original works and reproductions left to the Mississippi Supreme Court in the estates of Lewie and Jane Tanner, giving the Court a total collection of fifteen Alfred Nicols original works and reproductions.

Fifty-four large Alfred Nicols giclee reproductions used for the new Federal Courthouse in Jackson, to join numerous other Alfred Nicols originals and reproductions already on display by the Federal Courts. In the April/May 2012 Issue of International Artist Magazine, Alfred Nicols is pictured on the cover and in an 10-page spread featuring his acrylic landscape paintings.He has been painting for over forty-five years and his southern landscape paintings have received frequent recognition: Mississippi artist Alfred Nicols' southern landscape paintings and prints can be found in public, corporate and private art collections throughout Mississippi and other parts of the nation.
